Service
Vokab is an MVP-stage paid language-learning app that turns user imports into vocabulary, sentences, translations, pronunciation, cultural notes, review cards, and progress reports. The product is still being built, tested, and improved. AI and TTS output can be incomplete or wrong, so you are responsible for reviewing learning material before relying on it.
Data use and MVP development
To the fullest extent allowed by law, by using Vokab you agree that Vokab may store and use all data you submit to, generate in, or create through the product, plus account, billing, usage, and technical records, for operating the service, debugging, improving the product, measuring product-market fit, developing features, preventing abuse, security, legal compliance, and business administration. If you do not agree to this broad MVP-stage use, do not use Vokab.
Your imports and the shared corpus
Vokab processes user imports with AI. Ordinary imported sentences, ordered content, and private translations are stored in your browser-local private graph and, when enabled or unlocked, end-to-end encrypted private sync rather than Vokab's shared corpus. Private sync stores only an encrypted key envelope and encrypted snapshots in your account; Vokab cannot read private imports or recover the private sync passphrase. New devices need that passphrase to unlock synced private imports. If you do not set or unlock the passphrase, private imports remain local to browsers where they already exist and are unavailable on new browsers. Vokab may create or reuse hosted lexical word records from private imports so words can have study cards, review history, reports, and shared-backed metadata. Those account records do not include private source text, private sentence text, source order, or private translations. Shared corpus material may be visible to other users and is limited to safe lexical records, builder-seeded material, or material explicitly submitted through public import or publicize. Do not import confidential, sensitive, proprietary, illegal, or personal data that you do not have the right to submit to Vokab or its AI providers.
Account data
Personal library membership, blocked state, study cards, review history, and study progress remain user-scoped unless the product clearly tells you otherwise. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for all activity under your account.
Mature language visibility
Vokab may flag mature or offensive language for visibility controls. This material is hidden by default. You may enable mature or offensive language only when your saved birth year shows you are 18 or older, and you are responsible for keeping that profile information accurate.
Billing and refunds
Paid access is billed through Stripe. You can cancel future renewals through the billing portal when it is available for your account. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where mandatory law requires a refund, withdrawal right, correction, replacement, price reduction, or other remedy.
Acceptable use
Do not use Vokab to process unlawful content, infringe rights, bypass rate limits, attack the service, or create material you are not allowed to submit to AI providers. We may restrict or terminate access when needed to protect users, the service, providers, or legal obligations.
Mandatory rights
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer, privacy, payment, or data-protection rights. Where the terms conflict with mandatory law, mandatory law controls and the remaining terms continue to apply.
